On behalf of the Hungarian Pedagogical Society, the Department for the Prevention of Early School Leaving of the Hungarian Pedagogical Association and the Carpe diem Foundation, please accept our warm invitation to revive the network of second chance schools – to EXPAND IT!
A few years ago, within the framework of the “Second Chance Schools” sub-project of the “Creating Opportunities in Public Education” priority project, we had the opportunity to work together with 12 schools, to create a professional community, to share our joys and difficulties, and to draw knowledge, faith and enthusiasm from each other’s efforts. We look back with gratitude and love on the networking occasions, when we were able to get to know the participating schools and their staff better and spend valuable time together.
When the project period ended, we expressed our common intention to strengthen the professional relations of second chance schools, to represent common values and interests. We have not forgotten this intention.
By continuing and expanding the networking of our schools, we would like to create a close professional and human community that can provide continuous professional support, knowledge expansion, networking opportunities and appreciation for our colleagues, and an opportunity for our schools to assert their interests.
László Trencsényi, president of the Hungarian Pedagogical Society, and Mária Bognár, educational researcher, founder of the Dobbantó program and professional leader of the “Second Chance Schools” project, are highly experienced and excellent professionals who have joined us to participate in the development and activities of the network with their knowledge and activity. We have contacted organizations that can effectively help our often difficult work for children and young people with their special knowledge and tools.
At the re-forming meeting held on 21.11.2024, the organizers undertook the tasks associated with organizing the cooperation and supporting the professionalism of the cooperation. The network’s Budapest home will be the Tanext Academy, offered and supported by László Kajos, President of MPT KORISME and Director of Tanext Academy. The Carpe diem Recreation and General Education Foundation has been entrusted with the organizational, official representation and commitment tasks necessary to achieve the above goals.
